GOOD AFTERNOON ! STUDENTS PLEASE MAKE GOOD USE OF YOUR TIME TODAY AND ANY DAYS THAT  I AM REQUIRED TO BE ON JURY DUTY. FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS AND SAVE YOUR ORIGINAL IMAGE AND A NEW TRANSFORMATION OF YOUR IMAGE EVERYDAY

IF I AM OUT 2 DAYS I EXPECT YOU TO HAVE TWO TRANSFORMATIONS DONE AND SAVED AS VERSIONS 1 & 2 TO YOUR FLASH DRIVE - REMEMBER TO SAVE THE ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED.

Lesson--- Transforming an Image with GIMP

1)Please go to http://www.atomiclearning.com and LOGIN to our account--

•  USERNAME - buffalo  
•            password--- bps

2)Search for GIMP, select the pc format, and view 50 choices

3) you will see many short tutorials which you can view & listen to. Please use your headphones or watch quietly in small groups.

4) watch & listen to the following :

• 36824- looking at the interface
• 36827-opening an image
• 36830- Opening with drag & drop
• 36831- opening with copy /paste
• 36834- saving an image
• 36839- using the free select tool
• 36844- zoom tool
• 36890- Using artistic filters

5) After viewing these tutorials, find a photo image( no cartoons)  and transform it by selecting  the main  part of the image and putting it through a filter of your choice- save this as transformation #1 on your flash drive.

Tuesday 11/17- Good afternoon - I am on a jury so today again create a transformation and learn about some other tools in gimp, The numbers of tutorial that you need to view are these. You should use the same first image from yesterday and save at least one transformation that you create.

• 36840- using the fuzzy select tool
• 36841- Using the color select tool
• 36859- cropping a image
• 36875 - using the color picker tool

Please use your headphone & watch any of these or the files from yesterdays list more than once to really learn the different tools & capabilities. Then have fun & be creative with your image transformations.Please stay on these tasks ! If you finish try other tutorials or tools. Ms Norton
